In June one of the founder members of the Hartest Carpet Bowls Club John Sharp celebrated his 90th birthday.
As you will imagine, we could not let the moment pass without marking it, so we asked Val Seal to bake a delicious chocolate cake which had a real cricket ball on it (one of John's loves) and the words - 90 Not Out ! spelt out in Jaffa Cakes (some of John's other loves)
The group made short work of the cake after singing `Happy Birthday` to John and hearing about his family celebrations.
Rest assured, age is no problem at carpet bowls, John is one of our star players and we all felt privileged to be with him to celebrate such a milestone.
Here's to your centenary John !
