Bowls action

This informal group meet to play for fun and to enjoy a social night out, There are no league or competition matches just a relaxed atmosphere and good company.

The club meets on 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings of the month - 7.30 - 9.30 there is a minimal entrance charge of £3 per session which includes refreshments during the evening.

All the equipment is provided so you can just turn up and play. For your safety and for the preservation of the mats, flat shoes such as trainers are recommended.

No previous experience is needed as the game is very easy to pick up,although not quite so easy to play skilfully! We have some experienced members who will be pleased to get you started.

You can just turn up to play you will be assured of a very warm welcome, or for more information call Mike Lewis 01284 831005 - lewis@typegs.co.uk

We were delighted to welcome Lavenham Carpet Bowls Club for a friendly match during July 2012.

They came along with 14 players and an interesting evening was had by all. Overall lavenham won the evening, but that was not important, They were great fun as a group and played a mean game. It was the challenge and laughter that made the eveningBowls group so great.

History of the Club The club was re-formed in 2009 after the original club had closed a few years earlier.. There was such a strong interest in getting it up and running again that there was no problem getting players of both sexes to come along. The equipment was very old, and so with the aid of grants and some fundraising the mats, scoreboards and some of the bowls have been replaced and so the club has got off to a flying start.
