Good news stories with exceptional community benefits could win a donation
The Suffolk Foundation is seeking applications to its Donations Programme of the Improve and Prove Fund. If you are involved with, or know of a voluntary and community group, including social enterprises that has carried out a project which has brought about some fantastic outcomes, over and above that which were expected, then the group could receive a donation of either £5,000 or £10,000 to spend on your group’s work, whether that be core costs or other costs. We are seeking some “good news” stories from groups who have used their volunteers, staff or willing souls to carry out work which has brought about community benefits over and above that expected.
Additionally, if you have had a grant from a Funder and yet again the outcomes have been far above that expected, then let us know as we will also consider such a group for a donation.
In 2011 donations went to seven groups, including Beccles Lido, The Debenham Project addressing the problems that dementia presents to the community and those that care for others with the illness, Seagull Lowestoft Community Interest Company, transforming and enriching the community through the arts and Workwise (Suffolk) Ltd offering the only work related placement for adults with mental health problems in Suffolk.
You can speak to a Grants Officer about your project if you are unsure and Sue Wright on 01473 786917 is happy to chat about your project. Alternatively you can download the application form from the Suffolk Foundation website www.suffolkfoundation.org.uk and let Sue Wright have your completed paperwork. Please be sure to send it to the Foundation by the 31st July 2012.
